The Endoscopy Center of Bergen County is a single-specialty practice that is seeking an experienced Endoscopy Tech to join our team.

Job Summary: The ideal candidate will be part of the medical team that uses endoscopes to diagnose or treat gastrointestinal problems. They interact with patients, prepare the room and the equipment, provide support to physicians and nurses while the procedure is underway, handle specimens collected, and sterilize equipment.

Physician Procedure Assistance-Technical skill during procedures to anticipate the physician's needs and have supplies and equipment at hand. Performing maneuvers such as polypectomies and collection and documentation of specimens.

Room Set-up and Cleaning-Set up and care of scopes, room, procedure computers, and other procedure equipment. Ensuring that there are adequate supplies in the room. Cleaning the room and equipment in between cases and terminal cleaning the room at the end of every day.

Care and Cleaning of Scopes-Care of scopes to ensure they are not damaged during procedures or cleaning. Proper cleaning and disinfecting of scopes to ensure compliance with Infection Control standard compliance.

Medical Record documentation and specimen handling -Documentation in the medical record of procedure performed and specimens retrieved. Documentation of type and location of specimen retrieved for the pathology requisition and preparation of specimens for delivery to lab.


Required Skills:
  • Minimum 2 year of Endoscopy Tech experience required.
  • Must have experience working in Endoscopy procedures.
  • BLS certification.
